ExchangeMonitor has been hosting the Annual CCUS Conference since 2003 and will hold the 17th annual conference in March 2018. The conference was initially hosted under contract with the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory and has been held as a self-supporting event since 2005. In 2017, under the leadership of its parent company, Access Intelligence, ExchangeMonitor partnered the CCUS Conference with the Electric Power Conference and Exhibition, a partnership that will continue into 2018. The CCUS conference annually brings together the CCS research-engineering community with the practitioners from all sectors–government, industry, academia, and interest groups.
The U.S. now has its first operational commercial-scale, full-chain, CCUS project at Petra Nova, and progress toward commercializing CCUS in nations around the world. Norway is actively working to build industrial CCUS projects and researchers worldwide are participating in the privately funded Carbon Utilization X-Prize competition. While the industry is facing difficulty, the technology exists and is proven. Report after report shows that deployment of CCUS is essential to meeting the goals in the Paris Agreement. The future of CCS may seem bleak, but we’ve been here before and now, more than ever before, world leaders are taking note of the importance of this vital technology.
Session topics include:
- Carbon Capture Policy
- Major CCUS Projects
- CCS as a Bipartisan Issue
- CCS from a Global Perspective
Technical sessions include capture, utilization, storage, storage-monitoring and policy. Poster sessions are also presented on the exhibit floor of the ELECTRIC POWER Conference + Exhibition.
For the second year, CCUS will be co-locating with ELECTRIC POWER Conference + Exhibition. Co-locating gives you access to more networking opportunities, keynote presentations, technical sessions and more! For more information on ELECTRIC POWER, click here.
